Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional braces are very strong; therefore, they rarely break and is the most common type of brackets used in orthodontic treatment. The structure consists of silver brackets bonded to teeth, to which O-shaped elastics ties (ligatures) hold the arch wire onto the bracket. As you move along in your treatment, the wires will be changed out to straighten teeth to your desired result. Sometimes metal tie wires (wires that twist around the bracket) are used in place of elastic ligatures. The O-shaped elastic tie’s come in many different colors making it fun for younger children and teenagers to show off their personality!
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign is the ultimate in terms of aesthetic treatment options because they are virtually invisible and do not show up in photos. We use our state of the art 3D technology to scan and upload an image of your teeth to Invisalign. We use custom molded clear trays to move your teeth to the ideal position. These aligners shift teeth gradually, making Invisalign comfortable to wear. Because they are removable, patient compliance is extremely important with aligners. Invisalign is a terrific option for working professionals or patients seeking a discrete solution to improve their smile; however, it is not ideal for every case. My son got his braces on yesterday and the patient communication and interaction was amazing! His braces look great, and judging by how sore his mouth is, they're working already. Dr. Marina was great, and so was the front desk staff and the nice woman who applied the braces.
